Bexley Sailing Gold

Bexley came out on top of the Thames Water London Youth Games Regatta sailing competition after two days of exciting action at the King George V Reservoir on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June.

Hillingdon finished in second while defending champions Tower Hamlets came in third, continuing their run of securing a top three position in the sailing competition.

Bexley secured medals across both days including in the Pico and the Hansa.

Bexley team manager Dudley Davies said: “We weren’t really expecting this, it comes as a bit of a shock but well pleased, the kids are really happy, it’s great. We’ve put in a lot of preparation all through the year. This event gives them something to work towards, they need goals to go for and they’ve achieved their goal this weekend haven’t they?”

Sailing was the fourth competition in the Thames Water London Youth Games Regatta with kayak slalom, kayak sprint and rowing all decided on Saturday June 6 at the London Regatta Centre with Richmond securing first place in each.
