Fencing
The sword is one of the oldest of weapons and therefore fencing is one of the oldest of sports. It is one of only four sports to appear at all Olympic Games.
Fencing at the London Youth Games is one of the most visually striking competitions with the competitors dressed in the white jackets worn by top class fencers.
This exciting sport requires fencers to be very fit and they compete using one of of the Foil, Epee or Sabre swords. In learning the art of attacking and defending, fencers develop good co-ordination, balance and flexibility.
