Judo
Judo is a martial art and Olympic sport with origins in Japan. As kicking and punching are banned, the skill is to throw an opponent to the floor and either pin them down or force a submission using an armlock or a choke.
As players become more proficient they progress through the belt system starting with white, yellow and orange.
Weight categories mean that anyone can enjoy Judo and compete. Agility and strength are the most important attributes needed to succeed any weight.
Who is it for?

- Boys: Age 11-18
- Girls: Age 11-18
Competition Facts
- Section A: Years 7-9; Section B: Years 10-12
- Section A: minimum 6th Mon (Yellow Belt), maximum of 15th Mon (Blue Belt)
- Section B: minimum of 7th Mon (Orange Belt)
- Some exclusions apply to performance competititors. See rules for details.

BJA is the governing body for Judo in Great Britain. It is responsible for the development from school to preparing the Olympic team.
