Over 200 young participants are heading to Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre for the London Youth Games Kayak Slalom event. Hundreds of participants from borough teams across London will compete by navigating through a sequence of gates in order, testing their speed, agility and precision. The gates consist of pairs of poles, if the paddler touches a pole or misses a gate altogether then penalty seconds are added to their timed run.
Together, London Youth Games and Chaotic Community are working to make sport more inclusive for everyone. The para cetergory of this Kayaking event and all our ParaGames events are proudly supported by Chaotic, a UK-based competition platform dedicated to supporting families with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Chaotic partners with and sponsors a wide range of community organisations, schools and charities that share its mission. For founder Shana Kennedy, this mission is personal as her son Reyon is autistic.
British slalom canoeist, Richard Hounslow began his journey at London Youth Games and went on to become an Olympic double silver medalist.
