Volunteer at the London youth games

How to get involved

It’s really simple. Once you sign up to GamesForce, our volunteer programme, you’ll join over 4,000 people already lending a hand at the London Youth Games. From there, you can choose how you’d like to help and find the next opportunity to pitch in.

1. Choose

your role

There are lots of ways you can help, from taking photos to presenting medals.

2. Get

the app

Download the London Youth Games app and sign yourself up to GamesForce.

3. Start

Tell us what you’re interested in and we’ll send you updates whenever an opportunity comes up.

here's what
our volunteers say

From coaching and team managing Netball to helping to run competitions, volunteering with LYG helps me to see both sides of the sport.

I love being a volunteer because I love meeting new people and getting to explore different parts of London that I wouldn’t otherwise go to

Sports roles

Help us with registration and results, be an official in any of our 30 sports or assist us with the wider competition.

Events roles

Take part in medal ceremonies, give out event information or help us organise our hospitality arrangements.

Media roles

Be a photographer, a videographer, a reporter or a journalist or help us keep our social media up to date.

You can volunteer as a team

Schools, colleges and corporate groups can volunteer at the London Youth Games, too. We have roles in sports, events and media that are perfect for bigger teams.

If you are interested in bringing a team along please email gamesforce@londonyouthgames.org

Take the lead

We’re always looking for new Team Leaders at the London Youth Games. Our Team Leaders are the senior management crew at all of our events, helping us look after our many volunteers.

We’re on the hunt for Junior Team Leaders, too, aged 16-18. They work with our senior team, growing their leadership and communication skills along the way.

Team Leader and Junior Team Leader applications are now closed for 2020.

Check back in November to find out how to apply for 2021!
