Boccia

Open games

BOCCIA (MAIN)

Boccia is for disabled athletes and can be played by individuals, pairs or teams of 3-9 people. Players take it in turns to throw leather balls, always red or blue, as close as they can to a white target ball or ""jack"". The balls can be moved with your hands, feet or an assistive device. After each round, the ref sees whose balls are closest to the jack. One point is given for each player's ball that got closest to the jack. Boccia for Years 13 and under is aimed at more experienced players. It follows the same rules as standard Boccia and gives this age group the opportunity to compete.
