Did you know that badminton is the fastest racket sport with shuttles clocking speeds in excess of 200mph?
Badminton is recognised as the second most popular sport to be played in the world. Players use a racket to hit a shuttlecock across a net whereby players can only hit the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net.
Are you ready to showcase your skills and play against another individual or team?
If the answer is yes, you can represent your borough and play singles, doubles or mixed doubles matches against other London boroughs.

The following age groups and respective maximum and minimum date of births will apply to the London Youth Games Badminton Competition:

| 11-17 years old | 01/09/2006 | 31/08/2012 |
* Boroughs/Team managers should ensure any participant possesses the required skill level to compete in this competition. LYG will not accept responsibility for any participant of a younger age group being injured if playing up.
Each borough is permitted to enter a minimum of 4 competitors and a maximum of 16 competitors.
Any player(s) who has competed in three or more matches for their County in the Shires League 2023-24 for U13, U15 and/or U17 age category will be ineligible.
The closing date for borough’s to submit their team and squad entry is;
5pm, Thursday 30th May 2024.
All competitors must be entered by a council staff member, or nominated team manager in advance of the deadline listed.
Competitors/parents should be aware that the closing date listed is for borough’s to submit their squad. It is advised you make contact to confirm your entry in advance of this deadline.
