Futsal is a sport that is like association football. It is played on indoor courts by two teams with five players each. Its name is short for futebol de salao, which means ‘room football’ in the Portuguese language, or fútbol de sala, which is the same in the Spanish language. Futsal is most popular in South American countries, like Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. However, it is also played in many other countries.

The following age groups and respective maximum date of births will apply to the London Youth Games Futsallers 33 Cup competition:

Schools are permitted to enter a minimum of 5 competitors and a maximum of 10 competitors per gender.
Competition Tier: Higher
Competition Intent: Highly competitive environment where winning is the measure of success and level of challenge is high, in order to further the development of young athletes. Local qualifying events are encouraged, with the winning school progressing to the county final.
Player Eligibility: Aimed at children and young people who enjoy competition and may regularly access training and coaching outside of the school environment. Participants are used to competing in sport inside and outside of school, have a higher skill ability and understand tactics and strategies in competitive game play situations.
The deadline to submit team entry and school representative is;
5pm, Wednesday 17th April 2024.
A school must be entered by a School Games Organiser or a nominated team manager in advance of the deadline listed on the TeamSportz App.
