Kayak Slalom is the ultimate challenge testing speed, agility and precision against the force of nature such as roaring waters, eddies, swirlers and stoppers.
The paddlers must navigate through a sequence of gates in order over challenging rapids, waves, eddies and currents on a stretch of whitewater. The gates consist of pairs of poles, if the paddler touches a pole or misses a gate altogether then penalty seconds are added to their timed run.

*Competitors are permitted to race up an age group they wish, so long as they meet the eligibility criteria outlined, and are of the appropriate ability and experience to do so.
Each borough is permitted to have 1 competitor per race, per gender. This provides each borough with a maximum of 4 competitors.
All competitors must have independent experience on water or equivalent to the ‘New Discover Award’.
The closing date for borough’s to submit their squads is;
11:59pm, Wednesday 7th June 2023.
All competitors must be entered by a council staff member, or nominated team manager in advance of the deadline listed.
Competitors/parents should be aware that the closing date listed is for borough’s to submit their squad. It is advised that you make contact to confirm your entry in advance of this deadline.
