Tennis is a fast paced sport played either indoors or outdoors across various types of surfaces. It can be played by either 2 or 4 players using a stringed racket and a ball with the aim to hit the ball over a net and score points.

The following age categories are eligible to compete in this event:

| Senior Category | 12 – 18 years old | 01/01/2005 | 31/12/2011 |
Each borough is permitted to have a minimum of 4 participants (2 males and 2 females) and a maximum of 8 participants (4 males and 4 females).
Juniors: Junior players must have a World Tennis Number between 25-40.9 or no World Tennis Number to be eligible for this competition.
Seniors: Senior players must have a World Tennis Number between 20-40.9 or no World Tennis Number to be eligible for this competition.
East Qualifier: Saturday 17th June 2023 – Redbridge Sports Centre, IG6 3HD.
West Qualifier: Sunday 11th June 2023 – Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub, W5 4NH.
Finals: Sunday 2nd July 2023 – Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E20 3AD.
Team Entry Deadline:
11.59pm, Wednesday 10th May 2023.
Squad Entry Deadline:
11.59pm, Friday 26th May 2023.
All competitors must be entered by a council staff member, or nominated team manager in advance of the deadline listed.
Competitors/parents should be aware that the closing date listed is for borough’s to submit their squad. It is advised that you make contact to confirm your entry in advance of this deadline.

There are toilets and changing facilities at the venue. We do however strongly recommend coming dressed ready for the activity you are participating in.
The cafe at the venue will be open.
We strongly recommend the use of public transport to get to this event.
Only 1 pre-registered team space per borough is available at the VeloPark. Please contact emma@londonyouthgames.org with your team vehicle registration plate in advance of the event. No spectator parking.
Alternative parking available at the multi storey car park at Here East, Stratford Westfields or Stratford International.
For any coaches wishing to park – please contact lucy@londonyouthgames.org. Please note there will be a fee for coaches.
The closest station is Leyton (Central Line).
There are disabled parking bays and toilets available.
