My name is Ananya and I am from Wandsworth.

I currently have an eye condition called coloboma which means that I’m blind in my left eye completely and half my vision in my right eye.

Throughout my life, I have been surrounded by quite a lot of sporty people. But I have not had equal opportunities to compete at a high and equal play field with other people my age.

It’s hard to enjoy the same parts of life that other people my age can enjoy who are not visually impaired.

Coming to London youth games and seeing people who, even if they don’t have the exact same conditions as me, have definitely faced the same challenges I had. I think it’s quite empowering, and it just reminds me that you are not alone.

The London Youth Games is just a really empowering experience, and I’m so grateful that there are so many people who have all worked together to help me be able to enjoy this.
