National School Sports Week is 16-22 June 2025 and is powered by Sports Direct and Under Armour. This week-long initiative, spearheaded by the national children’s charity Youth Sport Trust, which is celebrating 30 years of empowering young people through sport, will bring together schools, national governing bodies of sport, families, and communities to encourage youth in the UK to get active at school. This year’s event supports the Always Active strategy, which encourages schools to incorporate physical activity into every aspect of the school day as part of the Youth Sport Trust’s efforts to promote 60 minutes of physical education, sports, and play for every child each day. By doing this, we hope to help children reach the UK Chief Medical Officers’ recommendation of 60 minutes of physical activity per day, or 20 minutes for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), while also improving their experiences and attitudes toward sport and physical activity.

Youth Sport Trust has been a huge partner of the London Youth Games, and we really appreciate their support with the school games. The school games enhance access to sports for young Londoners, by collaborating with School Games Organisers and the London schools’ network. LYG is committed to making sure these crucial sporting opportunities reach those who need them most. Make sure to participate in National Sports Week 16-22 June 2025.
