From Lewisham in south-east London, Alex is proud of the place in which he was born and raised. As a youngster, he represented Lewisham in Aquathlon, Cycling and Cross Country at the London Youth Games from 2010 to 2014. He won the gold medal in the Triathlon Mixed Relay at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the silver medal in the Men’s Triathlon at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Alex produced one of the most memorable moments of Paris 2024 Olympics when he won triathlon gold, overtaking his rival in the closing stages. Later in the Games, Alex and his GB team-mates won mixed team relay bronze. Alex was selected as a GB flagbearer for the Olympics closing ceremony.

After an incredible year, where he also became World Champion in Torremolinos, he has been nominated for the prestigious BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
