Although table tennis has been made popular by the Chinese, it is actually a British invention. It is played around the world and is now an Olympic sport. A fast game with small bats played across a 9-foot table, the ball moves at an incredible pace.  Players need to have very quick reflexes and strong and flexible leg muscles to move quickly over short distances.  


Tin-Tin Ho who became the first English girl ever to be selected for Europe at the World Cadet Challenge in 2012, first competed at the London Youth Games aged just five.

To get involved in open competitions, you will need to contact the Borough Team Organiser (BTO) in your borough or via the LYG App where you can register your interest for this competition here.

Only a BTO or nominated Team Manager can enter a team into a competition. A borough can enter any number of Borough/ Open/ Schools competitions with a maximum of 1 team per competition. 

A competitor is eligible to represent a borough if they are a resident or attend a school or college of further education in that borough. You cannot represent more than one borough in the same competition but competitors are allowed to compete for different boroughs in different competitions.
