TEAMS GO FOR GOLD AT SPORTSHALL ATHLETICS QUALIFIERS

Another year and another incredible Sportshall Athletics Qualifying week with teams representing every London borough, battling it out for their place in the London Youth Games Sportshall Athletics Finals on Thursday 28th March at Redbridge Sport Centre.

The first two qualifiers were hosted at Crystal Palace National Sport Centre, with the final two days moving to Harrow Leisure Centre giving teams one shot to secure their spot in the Finals next month.

Congratulations to the eight qualifying school teams in the Year 7 Girls competitions:
Robert Clack (Barking and Dagenham), Coopers Company (Havering), St Georges (Westminster), St Thomas More (Haringey), Notre Dam (Southwark), Harris City (Croydon), Swakeleys School (Hillingdon) and Gumley (Hounslow).

Most notably, a big shout out to both Haringey and Westminster schools with all four age groups (Year 7/8 Girls and Boys) qualifying to the Final.

Congratulations to the eight qualifying school teams in the Year 7 Boys competitions:
Cardinal Vaughan (Kensington and Chelsea), Fulham College (Hammersmith and Fulham), Harris City (Croydon), Sacred Heart (Southwark), St Georges (Westminster), St Thomas More (Haringey), Langdon (Newham) and Campion (Havering). You did your boroughs proud!

With multiple field and track events throughout all competitions, it was an incredible display of London’s Youths’ skill, speed and performance.

The Year 8 Girls competition witnessed eight more schools qualifying to the Finals: Coopers Company (Havering), St Pauls (Greenwich), St Thomas More (Haringey), Greycoat Hospital (Westminster), Wallington High (Sutton), Notre Dam (Southwark), North London Collegiate Girls (Harrow) and Gumley (Hounslow). Well done to you all.

Congratulations to the eight qualifying Year 8 boys teams: Twyford High (Ealing), Douay Martyrs (Hillingdon), St Thomas More (Haringey), St Georges (Westminster), Robert Clack (Barking and Dagenham), St Bonaventures (Newham), St Thomas Apostle (Southwark), Harris City (Croydon).

In the Year 5 and 6 Primary School competition, there were twelve qualifying spots to the Finals. All schools arrived ready and raring to go. The atmosphere was electric and the roof erupted with cheers and screams as the races got underway.

Congratulations to Ardleigh Green (Havering), St Francis’ RC (Newham), Brindishe Green (Lewisham), Ravenstone (Wandsworth), Granton Primary (Lambeth), St Elpheges (Sutton), Whiteheath (Hillingdon), Little Ealing (Ealing), Fairholme Primary (Hounslow), Millbank Academy (Westminster), Coldfall Primary (Haringey) and St Augustines (Redbridge) who qualified through to the Finals.
