Young Londoners Take to the Track at LYG Road Cycling Event

Over 150 young cyclists representing 25 London boroughs took part in an exciting day of racing at the London Youth Games Road Cycling event on Sunday 1st June. Held at the iconic Lee Valley VeloPark, the event brought together young riders from across the capital for a exciting day of competition.

The programme featured road races for Under 16 and Under 14 riders, each tackling 12 laps of the 1.6km outdoor circuit.

Riders also competed in Individual Time Trials (ITT), with U16s, U14s and U12s racing four laps, and U10s and U8s completing two laps each.

Across the day, five different boroughs claimed victory in their respective races, demonstrating the breadth of strong cyclists across London. All participating boroughs earned valuable points towards the overall Jubilee Trophy standings and the atmosphere throughout the day was competitive, supportive, and celebratory.
